Management
Why a Vegas style seafood buffet happening in the Bay area? It's mainly because of the owner and executive chef, Mark Shim. He’s been very interested in cooking since childhood and started his culinary career as a sushi chef. Also Mark obtained an apprenticeship in a French cuisine training. With many years of experience and excellent cooking skills, he has extraordinary achievements and owns several successful restaurants.

Due to their high demand buffet business, TATAMI can always get the best food with the lowest price at the first place. In addition to fresh raw seafood, all sorts of sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls, and hot food are surprisingly superb. Mark reinforces that they are kinda ditching deep fried food and absolutely no MSG in their food. You can eat with peace of mind. With tons of food selections, it's such a great dining experience.

Seafood and Sushi
Such a beautiful seafood station! You can see King Crab legs, mussels and etc. that you would expect to see in any seafood buffet.

Not to mention the Korean oysters which is super fresh! I am not really a fan of oysters. So I tried only one first. It is amazingly fresh and sweet. I had the most oysters in my life! It's very easy to tell if oyster is fresh or not. You taste it and you know it. And for someone like me, few drops of squeezed lemon are recommended.

There is another rarely seen seafood, huge Canada Whelk which is soft and tender. Steamed whelk accompanied with a special sauce is very tasty and sweet. You can also have it grilled and that is as good as those with no sauces.

Sashimi, nigiri, and sushi rolls are one of TATAMI’s main theme and they are really good at it! There are so many choices. Even if you are to try one of each, you’ll be getting full in minutes. Mark is proud of their seafood and sushi menu. More amazing, they have sea urchin nigiri! You can get such high quality food for a reasonable cost. What can we ask for? The sea urchin is sweet and ultimately fresh. You gotta be quick though. Popular items are gone in seconds.

Hot food and dessert
Korean BBQ and Japanese-style kebabs are must-haves in hot food area. Their roast beef is flavorful and juicy and seafood steamed egg is one of my all time favorites. You don’t see many steamed egg in buffets. Nice!

They have varieties of soups and the dessert is overwhelming. So you get fruits, jellies, cakes, cookies, and ice creams. Everyone loves it! Guess what!? French crepe is served! You choose whatever you would like to fit in, like strawberries, bananas, and blueberries. They make it for you! The most eye-catching desert is the chocolate fountain trying hiding in the corner. You all know how good it is! Just cannot say no to it.

TATAMI is a good place for family dinner, birthday party and also a great venue for wedding banquet which accommodates almost 400 patrons. A private area with screen and projector ready setup is good for business meeting as well.
